Visit to Schools in Ireland to help with Positive Handling Issues

Our team just returned from a training visit to  deliver positive handling training for schools in Ireland who asked for our help with specific issues they are facing with special-needs pupils in mainstream settings.   Although historically there has been little guidance from the Dept for Education and Skills on these issues, schools really do need good advice and guidance on what to do when pupils are becoming difficult to manage, distressed because their needs are not a met or even behaving dangerously to themselves or others around them The lack of guidance is well acknowledged: Feedback has been very positive from staff and management about the sessions which our team ran for them: "It would be important for any school where physical restraint is necessary to do this course. Staff need to be familiar with the information and techniques outlined in this course."

- Principal, Primary School, Co. Meath, Ireland

More feedback from our recent positive handling training courses in Ireland is available on our blog here. A YouTube video introduction to the course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNHtb4vLb6o To learn more, please visit our dedicated webpage for Positive Handling courses for schools in Ireland.
